Front Door "makeover"

I have been on a diy kick lately!

I am itching to cross things off the "fridge list"

Trevis went out of town for work the other day...

I started painting the front door

This is what the ugly front door used to look like

This is what the pretty front door looks like now!!!

I HEART it!!!
yes, I know it's not V-day anymore,
but it looked really good on the white door
I'm working on a summer wreath!

Happy 4th of July

As always, I seem to be a little behind on updating the blog

I love celebrating the 4th of July!

I love the RED, WHITE, and BLUE

I have wanted a flag on our house for a really long time

And this year, I found one
And Trevis put it up!!

I also made cute little hair bows for the girls!

Even if they are a little crazy!

I think they turned out cute!

Backyard Makeover

Owning a home means a lot of things
one of which seems to be the never ending projects
either decorating (some, I'm not very good at this)
...repairs (lots of those and that is T's job)
...home improvements (also T's job)
...so we have a "refrigerator list"

You may have heard of these

It's the list on our fridge of all those things we would like to do with the house
when we have time...
when we have money...
when we finally agree on what to do...

One of the things on our "list" is the backyard makeover
I really like lists, so I break everything down
trying to make it a little easier to think about
a little easier to cross off the list!!!

So far we have added grass, trees and the kids playset

Then we wanted to make our patio bigger and add some outdoor furniture.

First we Trevis had to clean out the area around the existing patio

That included breaking up some bricks that were cemented together

He is such a hard worker
(and it was super sweet of him to let me
take pictures of him working so hard)

Trevis was hard at work unloading concrete bags,
mixing concrete, and then smoothing it out
He unloaded 26 - 80lb bags of concrete!
good thing he wasn't expecting me to help with that!

He completed the first two sections on day 1
before he had to pack up and go to work
Then he got up really early on day 2 and finished it up!
My sister and  I put the table together one day when Trevis had to work

I think it looks so good!
I am so excited to have some backyard dinners!
I also have some fun pillows to go on the chairs...
I just need to sew some pieces on the back to keep them on the chairs.
